Kids Country Attractions


Kids Country exhibits and activities are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with special demonstration times noted below.


Come take a ride on a majestic animal that has crossed the world's deserts for thousands of years. A camel ride is a great idea for each little adventurer to view the carnival atop a camel's back. Each ride is $7.






Fun on the Farm allows children to explore the world of agriculture by following the process of producing farm products, from planting to market. Children can help with farm chores such as gathering eggs, planting and harvesting crops, and milking a cow.

Goat Mountain returns to Fun on the Farm – A Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo favorite returns in 2013 as a featured exhibit at Fun on the Farm. Observe goats as they frolic on a rocky hill and learn how the goat industry contributes to Texas agriculture and your daily life.

At the carnival, this special area is dedicated for children. Find kid-friendly rides and games that award winners with prizes around every bend!

The Kids Country Carnival is bigger and better than ever in 2013. With more rides and games added to the all-day carnival line-up, the child-friendly area opens as early as 11 a.m. on weekdays. 

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Hours subject to weather.

Take a break by the outdoor stage for daily entertainment, including sing-alongs, animal acts and other talent.

Houston’s Up & Comers – The Kids Country Stage grows up on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays as great music from bands just breaking into the Houston music scene perform for Show visitors.

Children ages 4 to 12 years old, become the stars of the show while they compete in a fast-paced, action-packed, pedal-powered tractor pull. The tractors and pulling sleds are built for fun.

Feb. 25 – March 10:

  • Monday – Friday: 11 a.m.; 12:30 p.m.; 3 p.m.; 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m.; 12:30 p.m.;
    2 p.m.; 3:30 p.m.; 5 p.m.; 6:30 p.m.

March 11 – 17

  • 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 6:30 p.m.

In addition to the action each night in Reliant Stadium, Mutton Bustin' also can be found in Kids Country, with 5- and 6-year-old participants trying to hold on tight to a sheep for eight seconds.

  • 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (starting on the hour)

Participation: Participants must be between the ages of 5 and 6 years old and not weigh more than 55 pounds. The cost is $15 per ride. DVDs and T-shirts are available for purchase at the Kid's Country Mutton Bustin' arena. Participation is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The petting zoo includes a wide variety of animals — from the exotic to those found on a typical farm. Grab a handful of tasty treats and see which animals are hungry.






Here, a group of perky piglets wait patiently at the starting gate. After the gate is opened, the piglets shoot forward like guided missiles in front of a cheering, standing-room-only crowd. The pigs race around a 150-foot track in only a few seconds, all dashing for sweets waiting at the finish line. This fun, exciting attraction also includes a swimming pig.

Pony rides are available for each little cowboy and cowgirl. Beautiful Welsh ponies walk carousel-style with their young riders. Each ride is $7 per ride, per child, and photos are available for additional costs.

10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Sudsy's Barn is a play-based, interactive hand-washing attraction. It’s a miniature waterpark, with soap! Instead of faucets, water comes from large 3-dimensional sculpted farm animals that talk!

Prepare for high-flying fun as you harness up and glide through the air with the slightest of ease, traversing a colorful view of Kids Country.
